The dubbing division is one of the most outstanding divisions that contribute potential dubbing artists to the dubbing industry by organizing voice productions, workshops, and competitions to hone the skills of Japura voice members who have talents in both the fields of dubbing and voice acting.

Our aim is to provide every member of our division with the knowledge and experience they need to improve their skills to open up new avenues in the field of dubbing and voice acting.

In the year 2019/20, Mr. Dimuthu Lakmal was the first head of dubbing division and since then Mr. Tishan Madhava (2020/21), Mr. Dilruk Madhuranga (2021/22) held this position. Currently Miss. Komuthu Yasasvi (2022/23) is working as dubbing divisional head.

“වර්ණරාව” was the comic dubbing competition organized for the first time in Sri Lanka and this project was handled by the Dubbing Division of J’pura Voice.

We thought that focusing on comic dubbing will surely deliver a fresh experience for every competitor. Although everyone knows what dubbing is, still there is no comprehensive understanding of the “comic dubbing” concept. Comic dubbing is the act of adding life to a non-moving creative image through voice acting. It is a very simple and accessible art form. But it also seems to be a dying art form, whose zenith has passed with time. As one of the Intangible Cultural Treasures of the Internet, it’s important to preserve such that artists can keep making them far into the future. The art of comic dubbing is not commonly seen in Sri Lanka and through this project, we hope to give a start initial step to comic dubbing in Sri Lanka.

• The purpose here is to unleash the talents of the creative person hidden in man.
• To be helpful to improve student/ undergraduate knowledge for those who are interested in the field of dubbing.
• Uplifting the participation of undergraduates and school students in the dubbing field.
• The privilege of raising the nation through fulfilling social responsibilities as an undergraduate.

D Zero was organized by the dubbing division of J’pura Voice with the motive of providing young undergraduates who are passionate about dubbing a massive worthy opportunity to be exposed to the golden words ideas of a renowned dubbing artist in Sri Lanka Guest artist was Mr.Dilan Senanayake whose session went out with 1000 participants. It was successfully held on 3^rd August 2020 via zoom and YouTube live online platforms.

Along with the project “වර්ණරාව”, ‘D zero 2.0’ which was organized for the 2nd consecutive time from J’pura Voice. 1000+ participants from all around the country participated in it.

“ආටෝප ” is a voice drama consisting of 05 episodes which have been created with the theme of how society naturally leaves those who raise their voices against injustice on November 9, 2020, the first episode of this was broadcast on the official YouTube channel of J’pura Voice.

ආටෝප was a Taskmaster project which lead by Dilruk Madhuranga. As voice actors Anuththara Umayangani, Kavini Gunawardena, Trishani Kariyawasam, Divya Shasthri, Madushi Yapa, Paramee Sumanasekara ,Dumaya Fernando ,Shashikala Hansani, Tharusha Rashmin ,Lakshitha Sandaruwan ,Janitha Sandun , and Dilruk Maduranga contributed to this voice drama.

To celebrate wonderful Christmas, J’pura Voice announced a Christmas week as Christmas with J’pura voice under which this “නත්තල් සීයා ඇවිත්” which based on the legend of Santa Claus created by dubbing division and broadcasted on our official YouTube channel Voice Tv by J’pura voice.

Kavini Gunawardane, Harsha Perera, Ranthilini Banduwardane, Dewmi Thennakoon, and Tishan Madhawa who was the dubbing divisional head during the 20/21 term contributed to the dubbing crew of this documentary video. Script and the content were done by Amanda Fernando and the video editing was done by Aruna Prasad.

The comic dubbing drama “නූතන පටාචාරා” was produced by the dubbing division for the Vesak week and published by J’pura voice based on the festival of Vesak was aired on 30^th May via our official YouTube channel and official Facebook page.

This comic dubbing drama was directed by Tishan Madhawa who was the dubbing divisional head during the 20/21 term. As dubbing artists, Chathuri Perera, Kavindya Waligalla, Thamari Manchanayake, Malsha Sandanuwan, Imanka Mudalige, and Tishan Madhawa contributed to this drama. The comic arts were done by Dhananjaya Thennakoon and Prasadi Nisansala. The music production was done by Dilruk Maduranga and the script was done by Ama Fernando, Sandani Maneesha, and Dewmini Thennakoon.

This was a voice drama based on an imaginary story. The Plot, cast, and music composition were done by the dubbing division of J’Pura Voice. As the Dubbing division of J’Pura Voice, We proposed to give an opportunity to members to enhance their dubbing skills through the ‘Money’ Voice Drama. This voice drama was published by Voice TV YouTube channel on 1^st of July 2021.

Script, Editor, Music production & Director of this “Money” voice drama was done by Dilruk Maduranga who was the Head of the Dubbing Division in 21/22 term. As dubbing artists Akeesha Mansari, Trishani Kariyawasam, Paramee Sumanasekara, Kalpani Edirisinghe, Kushan Senevirathna, Kalindu Kaveesha, and Dilruk Maduranga contributed to this voice drama.

“පියවි” Voice Drama was based on a horror imaginary story. This Voice drama was being proceed as a task master project. Script, Dubbing Cast, music composition are done by the division members. So as it was a great combination of our Dubbing division members and thereby, they would enhance their skills as well. There are 10 episodes will be broadcasted within 05 weeks via the J’Pura voice YouTube channel.

Script & Director of this “පියවි” voice drama was done by Randi Ushara. Nipun Rajapaksha and Dilruk Maduranga worked as the editors of the drama. The music production was done by Dilruk Maduranga who was the Head of the Dubbing Division in 21/22 term. As dubbing artists Paramee Sumanasekara, Randi Ushara, Dilruk Maduranga, Tharindu Lasantha, Dunali Wanasinghe, Vidunipun Rajapaksha, Kalani Sandalika , Ishara Wadduwage, Manoj Gunathilaka , Nayanajith Kumara , Komuthu Yasasvi, Nethmi Anjani, Oshadi De Silva, Shashini Dulakshi, Nayomi Suresha, Anupama Alwis, and Hirushi D.Kostha contributed to this voice drama. Wijaya Products (Pvt) Ltd. was the official gold partner of this project.

“දෑස්” Voice Drama is based on a fictional detective story. This Voice drama is regarded as a Dubbing Divisional project. There are 7 episodes that were broadcasted within 07 days via the J’pura Voice YouTube channel from 29th September. Nipun Rajapaksha who is the Assistant Divisional Head of the J’pura Voice Dubbing Division was in charge of this project and also he was the director of the voice drama. The Script was written by Randi Ushara, who is currently working as the Divisional Head of the J’pura Voice Filming Division. The Music Composition and editing were done by Harshana Kavinda and the graphic design was done by Sulalitha Nipun. As the Dubbing Cast Anuradha Gunasinghe, Miyura Sanjula, Udam Rupasinghe, Trevan Rumal, Samitha Dilanka, Randi Ushara , Chiara Rajapakse , Shayni Malsha , O.W.J. Ama Gunasekara , K.G.Iranga Dilshan , H.R.Nipuna S. Habaragamuw , Kavinda Herath , Amanda Wijayawardhana, M.J.C.K. Meegoda , N.D.Piyumi Wijegunawardhana, T.K.Geeth Pahasara Premarathna, Shawinda Aberathna , Sajana Mallikarachchi , Vihan Perera .

This voice drama was broadcasted as a special day one episode voice drama on 06th October via J’pura Voice Official Facebook page. This story tells the story of a teacher mother who went beyond being a teacher and treated her students as her own children. This drama was directed by Manoj Gunathilake who is a taskmaster of the Dubbing Division. And the script writer was Dilmi Manuka. Bhagya Rathnayake, Miyura Sanjula, Prashani Nimeshika, Nilmi Tharuka, Nimesh Madusanka, Manoj Gunathilake, Rashini Fernando, Sadun Wikumsara, Sumith Lahiru were the dubbing cast of the voice drama.
